The United States has reviewed and tested several Ukrainian drones as part of work on an agreement known as the Drone Deal, the Ukrainian outlet Militarnyi reported.

This information was confirmed by Heorhii Tykhyi, spokesperson for Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a briefing, as reported by the website hromadske.

According to him, cooperation with the United States in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is ongoing, and both sides have agreed to continue advancing their work in this area.

“I cannot publicly comment on the specific terms of the agreement for obvious reasons, but I can confirm that the dialogue on the Drone Deal is very active and constructive,” Tykhyi added.

The Drone Deal, a cooperation agreement on unmanned aerial vehicles between Ukraine and the United States, was announced last fall by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The agreement concerns the potential purchase of Ukrainian drones over a five-year period and also includes the possibility of joint production of several Ukrainian models.

Currently, the total production capacity of Ukraine’s defense industry is estimated at more than $55 billion. The greatest potential lies in unmanned aerial vehicles, electronic warfare systems, and reconnaissance technologies.

In February, it was announced that Ukrainian companies had received their first licenses for the controlled export of weapons.

It is worth noting that sales are only permitted in segments where domestic production capacity significantly exceeds the volumes acquired for national needs.
